Disclosure Policy
At The Nook, transparency is important to us. We believe our audience deserves to know how games are acquired, how content is created, and how we approach reviews, previews, and other coverage.
Review, Preview, and Prototype Copies
Publishers, designers, and creators may occasionally provide us with review copies, preview copies, prototype games, or other materials for evaluation and coverage.
Receiving a game does not guarantee coverage of any kind. We are unable to feature every game we receive, and some titles may never appear on our website, social media channels, or videos.
Likewise, receiving a game does not guarantee positive coverage. Our opinions and impressions are our own and are based on our experiences with the game.
Editorial Independence Rulebook
The Nook does not accept payment in exchange for content including: reviews, previews, recommendations, ratings, or editorial coverage.
Publishers and designers do not have approval over our opinions, conclusions, or final recommendations. Any review, preview, or discussion published by The Nook reflects our honest assessment of the game.
Rulebook Proofreading and Consulting
In addition to content creation, The Nook may occasionally provide paid rulebook proofreading, editing, playtesting feedback, or consulting services for publishers and designers.
These services are intended to help identify typographical errors, rules inconsistencies, unclear wording, and other issues that may impact the player experience.
Providing proofreading or consulting services does not guarantee future coverage of a game, nor does it influence any opinions we may share if the game is later discussed in our content. Any editorial coverage remains independent and reflects our honest experiences with the game.
Sponsorships
From time to time, a video, article, event, or other piece of content may include a sponsor.
When sponsorships are involved, the sponsor is supporting the creation, production, filming, or publication of the content itself. Sponsorship does not influence our opinions regarding any game discussed within that content.
Any sponsored content or sponsor acknowledgements will be clearly identified whenever applicable.
Crowdfunding and Final Production Copies
For crowdfunding projects, we may receive prototype copies or preview copies during development.
In some cases, publishers may choose to provide a final production copy after fulfillment. While these copies are always appreciated, they are never required or expected and do not affect our coverage, opinions, or future relationship with the publisher.
Corrections and Updates
If factual errors are identified in our content, we will make reasonable efforts to correct them when appropriate.
